Beatriz Cerva

November 6, 1941 - January 22, 2022

Beatriz Leal Cerva, 80 of Galloway, went home to the Lord on 1/22/22, passing peacefully in her bed. She was the widower of Joào Cerva, and they shared 29 years together. Born in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande du Sul, Brazil, she was the daughter of João De Deus Leal and Olivia Fontes Leal. Beatriz attended Catholic school in Brazil and was trained as a seamstress, hairdresser and was a gifted crocheter and knitter. In Brazil, Beatriz helped to manage her family's store and restaurant and loved to serve others and her community. Beatriz was also a skilled organizer, cleaner and homemaker. Beatriz was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Her hobbies were watching Brazilian soccer, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, love for her family, vibrant personality, loving and kind spirit, warm smile and whole hearted laugh. Beatriz is survived by her daughter Regina, son in law, Marco and grandchildren Kelly and Kevin. She is also survived by many other family members both in the US and Brazil, that she cared for deeply. She is predeceased by her husband João, parents João & Olivia and brother Percy. A service will be held at Lowenstein-Saraceno Funeral Home on Sunday February 6th, from 1:00-3:00pm.
