ROMANELLI, LT. RET. FRANK ROLAND - died peacefully surrounded by 19 members of his family and his Pastor on November 15, 2015 at the young age of 71. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nettie. Frank was born on August 4th, 1944 in Philadelphia to Frank and Nettie Romanelli. He married Esther and shared an amazing 47 years with her, creating a loving household. Frank enlisted in the National Guard in 1962, serving his country for six years and was honorably discharged in June 1968. During that time, he began his career in law enforcement in 1965. He started as an officer with the Atlantic County Sheriff's office moving quickly to the Egg Harbor City Police Department (PD) as a patrolman. From there, his career advanced to Detective with the Galloway PD. His success moved him to the Atlantic County Prosecutors office where he continued to move through the ranks, retiring as a Lieutenant of Major Crimes. His passion for camping led him to the next chapter of his life as an owner of Atlantic Cape RV, where he continued to make lasting bonds. He sold his partnership in the business in 2007 and entered another phase in his life-spending time with his family. But it doesn't end there. Frank was a dedicated member and benefactor of Oceanville United Methodist Church. He was resolute in his religious beliefs and committed to its continuing service to the community. It is the request of the family that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name be made to Oceanville United Methodist Church at PO Box 324, 190 South New York Road, Oceanville, N.J. 08231. A visitation is scheduled from 9 am to 11 am on Friday, November 20th at Saraceno Funeral Home in Egg Harbor City with a service from 11-12. Internment will follow immediately at the Veteran's Cemetery in Estell Manor. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Frank's life.
