Samuel DeCicco of Absecon departed this life on March 4, 2012, four days before his 93rd birthday. He was born in Hammonton in 1919 to Joseph and Caroline DeCicco. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel (nee Peterson).Samuel leaves behind his son Samuel Jr and daughter in law Belinda, his two grandchildren Elizabeth Irene and Nicholas Samuel, his brother Albert and sister Caroline Byrne. Samuel proudly served our country as an Army corporal from 1942 to 1945.During that time he earned the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a member of the VFW and The Veterans Battle of the Bulge where he frequently attended reunions. During his life he visited many families collecting payments for their insurance policies that he sold them. He worked for Prudential, Colonial Life and Metropolitan Life Insurance Companies. Later on he taught school to those wishing to obtain an Insurance License.Even after being declared legally blind he was still able to teach through memorization of the work he had to teach. Visitation will be Saturday March 10, from 9:00-10:00am at Saraceno Funeral Home 1114 White Horse Pike Egg Harbor City. A mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at St.Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon at 11:00 am. An Entombment will follow at Laurel Memorial Park.
